The Purpose _

Building on everything we learnt with the XC Wide; the Race version takes things even further. Saving nearly 150g whilst not sacrificing any strength, this is the perfect choice for when you're attacking both the ups, and downs, at race pace. With 24mm internal 6069-T6 alloy (+69% tensile strength vs 6061-T6) rims they are no flexy featherweights- built to handle the demands of today’s rocky and rooty XC courses or be fitted to the new breed of long-legged “downcountry” bikes. With 5° RapidEngage Hubs and excellent torsional strength from Pillar's PSR Straight Pull Spokes, they'll make every pedal stroke count when it's needed most.

HUNT recommends a 2.1" to 2.35" tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 1.1" and 2.6" are also safe to use.   Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post about this, read here.  Tubeless-ready for lower weight and rolling resistance.  You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower.

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. A 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is normal for wheelset manufacturing.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh rolling-drum fatigue tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 135 kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 125 kg then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly.
