The new HUNT Gravel Race Disc has been updated with a wider rim profile and lower system weight to make your bike both more capable and quicker under power.

With 6069-T6 alloy rim construction, offering 69% higher tensile strength than 6061-T6 alloy, and a wider 24mm internal rim dimension, the new Gravel Race is ready for your next race and all the gravel adventures between now and race day.

The anodized and shot-peened rim finish shrugs off your rowdiest lines and flung rocks for greater long-term durability. HUNT H_Ratchet 40T DBL hubs offer rapid 9-degree engagement angle with a dual-sided ratchet system designed to handle the torque loads of wide range gravel or road drivetrains. The increased 24mm internal width is optimized for modern gravel tyres, ranging from 35mm all the way up to 55mm, allowing you to confidently roam new routes. Hand-built with 24 bladed Sapim CX-Delta spokes and alloy spoke nipples for dependability, responsiveness and supreme ride characteristics.

HUNT H_Ratchet 40T DBL ratchet-based hub system with straight pull spoke interface and 9-degree engagement. Featuring a robust 6066-T6 alloy shell and high-strength 7075-T6 axle and freehub body with stainless steel insert to prevent gouging and wear.

Tyres

Tubeless-ready for lower weight, lower rolling resistance and improved puncture resistance. Also works excellently with clincher tyres and tubes. Optimised for 35-55mm tyres, and compatible with 29-65mm tyres.

HUNT recommend a 35-55mm tyre for best performance, tyre widths between 29mm and 65mm are also safe to use. You must not exceed the maximum tyre pressure limits set out in the table below or the maximum limit set by your tyre manufacturer if this is lower. Note: best performance is usually gained by using tyre pressures lower than the maximum, you can see our blog post here about this. These wheels arrive tubeless-ready, with tubeless tape installed and tubeless valves included, but are also designed to work perfectly with inner tubes and clincher tyres. A strong and lightweight 6069-T6 heat-treated rim boasts 69% higher tensile strength vs 6061-T6 alloy. The updated Gravel Race Disc features a wider 24mm internal and 28mm external rim width, creating an optimal tyre profile for wider gravel tyres, giving excellent grip and lower rolling resistance.

Spokes

The CX Delta is one of the latest offerings from Sapim, offering the aero advantage of a bladed CX Ray, with the durability of a D-Light. SCFT (Sapim Cold Forging Technology) ‘Stretch’ the spoke while retaining the linear Molecular structure of the material, thereby increasing the spoke strength at the middle by at least 48%.

H_Ratchet double-sided system (with two floating ratchet rings). With a 40t ratchet ring resulting in rapid 9˚ engagement. The freehub body features H_Ceramik anti-bite coating to ensure maximum durability.

BEARINGS

The heart of any wheel. Investing in them makes huge sense. We use high-grade double sealed smooth-rolling sealed cartridge bearings.
NIPPLES  

The conical shape of the double square nipple allows for increased accuracy in wheel building when combined with a nipple washer, allowing us to create evenly tensioned wheels with reduced stress points at the spoke hole.

A full 3 years from purchase date warranty is offered to the original purchaser only on all Hunt bike wheels against material or workmanship defects, please click here to read full details.

Stated wheel weights: Our stated wheel weights reflect the wheelset only; without rim tape, tubeless valves or disc brake lock rings, as is industry standard. A 3% variance (lower or higher) in total system weight is normal for wheelset manufacturing.

All HUNT wheels models have to pass our harsh cobbled-rolling-road tests for rider weight limits, please see here for more details. Max system weight 130 kg (system weight – total weight of fully kitted up rider, bike and luggage). If the system is over 120 kg then an experienced bike mechanic should check the wheel regularly.
