A sub-1000 gram disc brake wheelset developed specifically to shave seconds off the steepest climbs. This hyperlight, minimalist climbing wheelset combines race-proven UD carbon spokes and ultra-light, fast-engaging hubs with a 30mm, tubular carbon rim.

Tyre size: Optimized for 23-28mm tubular tyres. Please note - not suitable for normal clincher or tubeless tyres.

NO Grade (25% OFF) - As New - you won't be able to tell they have been ridden.

Grade A (35% OFF) - Light use - Slight cosmetic marks on the wheels.

Grade B (50% OFF) - Used - It may have cosmetic marks to the hub or rim and will show signs of use - they have been serviced and checked by our master wheel builders and will provide many more miles of use.

The Purpose _

Inspired by the passionate British Hill Climb community and developed with input from HUNT-supported athletes, the Hill Climb SL Disc is a hyperlight and minimalist tubular disc-brake wheelset designed specifically for smashing KOMs and PRs from your local wall to the national championships.

Ready for the next generation of ultralight disc brake-equipped road bikes, with 30mm deep carbon tubular rims, fully true-able and replaceable UD carbon TaperLock spokes and an ultralight HUNT H_Ratchet UD SL hubset with 9-degree engagement, the wheelset comes in at an ultra-light 963 grams.

Important; please note these are for Tubular tyres only and will not work with normal clincher or Tubeless tyres.

UD Carbon Spokes

Incredibly strong (achieving over 450kgf per spoke) TaperLock UD carbon spokes offering 30% increase in stiffness against steel ones. Only 2.7g per spoke. Due to the TaperLock technology, these spokes can be trued easily using a spoke key from within the rim bed.

Rims

Ultralight but robust 30mm-deep wheelset that offers a 26mm width, ideal for modern width tubular tyres capable of providing the traction needed to fly up steep hills, and the strength required to get back down safely. Disc-specific tubular profile.

H_Ratchet UD SL Hubs

Providing strength and enhanced power transfer, meaning more of your power pushing you forwards. 40-tooth ratchet drive offers 9-degree engagement with pop out end caps for easy serviceability and a drilled out high-strength axle and freehub body (Shimano HG) for further weight reduction.

Ultralight 30mm deep tubular rim with 26mm width, optimized for 23-28c tubular tyres. Developed with input from Andy Feather, 2022 British National Hill Climb Champion. Disc-specific tubular profile. Important; please note these are for Tubular tyres only and will not work with normal Clincher or Tubeless tyres.

Tubular

Suitable for use with tubular tyres only. These wheels are not compatible with tubeless or clincher tyres

Hubs

HUNT H_Ratchet UD SL hubs,9-degree/40-tooth ratchet drive, with extruded 6066 alloys. Easily removable end caps and freehub body for quick and easy maintenance.

UD Carbon Spokes

TaperLock UD carbon spokes offer up to a 30% increase in lateral responsiveness compared to steel equivalents. Only 2.7g per spoke and yet can handle tightening forces of ~450kgf per spoke. Owing to the TaperLock technology, these spokes can be trued using a spoke key from inside the rim bed. Responsiveness that delivers your power to the road as effectively as possible.

Freehub Body

A drilled out high-strength axle and freehub body (Shimano HG) for further weight reduction. The HG freehub body includes the HUNT signature anti-bite steel insert for protection against cassette gouging, with alloy splines removed to save precious grams.
