Over the past couple of months riders, teams and track builders have been travelling across the EU holding a series of indoor Arenacross races. The HUNT Mountain team thought this would be a great opportunity to get in front of a new audience with a passion for both MTB and Moto, so teamed up with popular UK YouTuber Mark McCann to take on the challenge.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Arenacross World Tour, it's a short-course motocross series that is held at arenas around the country, bringing tens of thousands of motocross fans together under one roof to watch elite riders clash on the tight dirt courses.
For 2025 Arenacross saw traditional petrol-powered bikes compete against new school electric motos. Both offer their own advantages and disadvantages on the custom-built indoor tracks, which feature loose corners, woop sections and huge jumps.
With a massive crossover of mountain bike/EMTB riders and fans of moto and arenacross, HUNT Mountain teamed up with popular UK YouTuber, Mark McCann to field a team of riders. The Mark McCann Team would be made up of UK and EU riders, with their ride of choice being the torquey Stark Varg E moto bikes, packing an astonishing 764 ft-lbs of torque from the water and oil-cooled motor and battery system. To give you an idea of the type of power on tap, this highly tunable e-moto has more power than a 450cc Motocross bike, and as they have fewer moving parts and a lower rotating mass, they are much easier to control and flick about! With instant throttle response, these bikes made a phenomenal choice for indoor racing.
To get up close and get a real understanding of what Arenacross was really like, HUNT Mountain Senior Marketing Manager, Andi Sykes, headed to the Manchester round at the AO arena and spent the day with the team for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look.
